Both adjectives indicate people’s honesty and sincerity in word and in deed, 诚实is always used as a commendatory term and is often used in writing.
这两个形容词都表示人在言行上的真诚和不虚假。“诚实”是褒义词，常用于书面语。
·我们要做一个诚实正直的人。
wǒ men yào zuò yī gè chéng shí zhèng zhí de rén.
(One should be an honest and upright person.)
老实, on the other hand, is a word neutral in tone and is used in both oral speech and in writing. Different from 诚实, it can be reduplicated as in 老老实实, In addition to expressing the meaning of 诚实, i.e, honesty and sincerity, 老实also carries the following connotations:
“老实“则是个中性词，可用于口语和书面语。与“诚实”不同，“老实”可重叠为“老老实实”的形式。除了表达“诚实”的意思以外，“老实”还有如下含义：
1、To be well-behaved. Never causing any trouble:
规规矩矩，从不惹麻烦。
·这个孩子很老实，从来不跟人家吵架。
zhè ge hái zi hěn lǎo shi, cóng lái bù gēn rén jia chǎo jià.
(This boy is well-behaved, never quarreling with others.)
2、To be very honest, sincere and kind so as to be easily prone to deception or not open to flexibility. Hence 老实is sometimes used as a euphemism for being simpleminded or naive and people sometimes say 老实是无用的代名词 lǎo shi shì wú yòng de dài míng cí. (Honesty is another name for naivety.)
因为老实、真诚、好心，所以容易被骗或者表现不灵活。因此，“老实”有时又用来委婉地表示头脑简单、天真幼稚。人们有时候说“老实是无用的代名词”。
·她是个老实人，容易受骗。
tā shì gè lǎo shi rén, róng yì shòu piàn.
(She is so honest and naive that she is easily taken in.)
好在 / 多亏
“好在”副词，多用在语前，表示在不利的情况下，还有一种有利的因素。常和“要不、不然”等配合使用，例如：
The adverb “好在”is often used before the subject of a sentence to indicate that under an overall unfavorable condition, there is a favorable factor. It is often used with “要不”and “不然”, etc, For example:
1、那天下午突然下起雨来了，好在我们带了伞。
2、今天路上堵得厉害，好在我出来得早。
“多亏”动词，表示由于某人的帮助而避免了不如意的事情，含有感谢和庆幸的意思。
The word “多亏”means thanks to, indicating that an undesirable situation has been avoided due to someone’s help, It embodies such meanings as gratitude and rejoice. 例如：
3、这次多亏了你，我才买到车票。
4、多亏你告诉我，要不我就忘了。
