书写规则 Rules of writing the transcription
i、u、ü都可自成音节。自成音节时分别写成yi、wu、yu
i、u and ü may form independent syllables. In writing they are respectively yi、wu and yu.
以u开头的音节，u要写成w
u at the beginning of syllable is written as w. ua-wa uo-wo uai-wai uei-wei uan-wan uen-wen uang-wang
以i 开头的音节，i要写成y
i at the beginning of syllable is written as y. iɑ-yɑ ie-ye iɑo-yɑo iou-you iɑn-yɑn in-yin iɑng-yɑng ing-ying iong-yong
以ü开头的音节，音节开头要加上y，ü上面的两点要去掉。
y is added before the syllable beginning with ü, and ü is removed of the two dots at the top. üe –yue üan-yuan ün-yun
ü、üe、üan、ün和j、q、x相拼时，ü上面的两点要去掉，写成：
When ü、üe、üan and ün are spelled together with j、q、x，they are removed of the two dots at the top and written as: ju jue juan jun qu que quan qun xu xue xuan xun
ü与n、l相拼时，仍写成ü
ü remains unchanged when spelled with n and l.
iou前面加声母时要写成iu
iou is written as iu if an initial is added.
