The Historical Charm of Dujiang Dam

From the Guan Country in history to the present Duijiang Dam city,the city in the
southwest has different linegering charm due to the ancient dam,”The spring
scenery in Jinjiang River beautifies everything here while the floating clouds
reflect the changes in history and present standing on the Yulei Pavilion.”It is
said that the Yulei Pavilion is the best place to observe the Duijiang Dam.The
lineup reaches the peak fo Yulei Pavilion in a moist afternoon,experiencing
Dufu’s sign in a thousand year.
  Following a new path surrounded by green trees,we can see the indistinct
river.We climb a nealy 50-meter tower via the staircase in Buyun Corridor.The
visitors who hesitate to climb up at the bottom sign with emotion due to the
wide vision.
  Many local people describe Duijiang Dam as that the mountains is near the
city and the city is in the river;the road is surrounded by the green and the people
are immersed in the flowers.Walking around the Yulei Pavilion,the city can be
viewed in the panoramic perspective,The thousand-year-old city lies to the east
while the Chengdu plain is in the west.The source of Minjiang River can be seen
from the north while it is bordered by Qingcheng Mountain in the south.
  In cloudy day.a light breeze over the river blows slowly over faces,bringing tidal
air from the river.On the summit,we have a panoramic view of the whole water
conservancy project in the Duijiang Dam.Actually,the water conservancy project is
quite simple.Among the green trees,the muddy river runs always magnificently.
And even we cannot find the real places of well-known Precious-bottle-neck and
Fish-mouth.
   Looking back at history, the construction of Duijiang Dam aims at not irrigation
but unification of China.In 276 BC,the prefecture of shu state.Libing constructed
Duijiang Dam under orders of King Zhao of Qin for that conquering Shu means
conquering the Chu State and the demise of Chu shate means the China unified.
In fact,Chengdu plain where people suffered from drought and flood turned into
the famous land of abundance due to the construct of Duijiang Dam.Specifically
speaking,the so-called wonder of the world-the artificial channels in ancient
Rome,splendid Hammurabi Canal in ancient Babylon and the Zhenggou Canal
are all buried as time goes by.Only Duijiang Dam has played an important role in
water conservancy.
   However,it’s hard to associate its simple external with its greatness .perhaps,we
can perceive much more as close to it.Form Lidui part to Precious-bottle-neck,we
experience the power of Duijiang Dam,with earsplitting growl On Anlan rope bridge,
we reach Minjiang River more closely.
   The river is rushing here form a distance.It seems that water is inseparable.Also,
it likes thousands of individuals which have to squeeze together due to width of
water channel。They chase each other without stop。Strong moisture is oncoming
caused by collision of water.It seems that it floats from the remote mountains in last
minute and comes down in a twinkle,and then leaves bustlingly.without stop and
hesitation.Compared with swinging rope bridge.Minjiang River is insurgent,massive
and merry.We standing on the rope bridge feel immeasurably small.
