Make your own kite and fly with XMandarin!

During the different dynasties in China, kites have served for different practical uses. Most importantly they were used for messaging. Even so in the Han Dynasty the kites were used on the battle field as well.

The invention of kites has been claimed by two Chinese philosophers named Mo Di and Gongshu Ban. Supposedly they flew their first kite approximately 500 B.C. However the first official record of people flying paper kites dates back to 549 A.D. These kites were made from paper and used as a message during a rescue mission.

Nowadays kites lost most of their practical purposes. Their development made them become a form of art. With all shapes and sizes, from fighter to recreational kites, the possibilities are endless. We want you to explore some of these possibilities with us!

On Sunday the 23rd of April one of our teachers will give class in how to create your own kite. At the end of the class we are going to fly the kites as well.
