Last Sunday XMandarin organised a dumpling making activity for our students in order to celebrate the Spring Festival.
Our students could learn how to make 饺子jiǎozi(Chinese dumplings), enjoy a pleasant meal and meet new people!
First of all, Teacher Annie(Sun Laoshi) explained the different ingredients that we needed to prepare the dumplings. You can make dumplings of different flavors; but we used zhūròu (pork meat), báicài(cabbage), cōng(spring onion), jiāng(ginger), for the stuffing.
Dumplings Stuffing
(2 persons)
Wrapper 40 pieces,Cabbage 500g,meat 200g,Onion 50g,Ginger 15g
salt is according to personal taste.
Step 1
Mix the ingredients
Step 2
Fill in the dumplings wrapper (jiǎozi pí) with the mix and close it well so the mix doesn’t escape. It can be the most challenging and creative part!
Step 3
Put the dumplings in boiling water. But be careful when you do it!
Step 4
Wait a few minutes until they are boiled and get ready to eat a delicious meal.
Step 5
Enjoy the dumplings you have just made and share with them with your friends.
It was a really funny event that both students and the school staff enjoyed.
