Homemade Dumplings Meets Foreign Culture

Have you always wanted to experience traditional Chinese New Year family dinner? We invited our students to a warm Chinese New Year feast, in the freezing winter of Qingdao. Dumplings have always been an important element for traditional Chinese festivals. This time, XMandarin went to a traditional Chinese family. We offered the following delicious dumpling options: cabbage, celery and pork. With the family's teaching, all dumplings are made by our wonderful students.

 

 

 

 

 

 

▲ Everything is ready!

 

 

 

 

 

 

▲ Mix all the ingredients in a bowl, make a very smooth dough and form a ball.

Seal the dough for about 15 min.

Then roll it to a long stick. Cut off small same sized pieces and roll them out to circle forms with a rolling pin.

 

 

 

 

 

 

▲ Take the round dumplings skin.

Put the filling in the middle.

Fold the skin over the filling and tuck in the corners on both sides.

Then press the skin together and make sure it is well closed on all sides.
